Heh.Posted on August 7th, 2007 @ 4:02 pm
First, thanks to all of my lovely commenters: Kalen, Bobbi, The Thinker, Claudia and Kelley.
Tonight, I was supposed to have a friend come over to study with me and again she canceled. I’m like the worlds easiest to cancel on. Totally not kidding. Let’s see. This same friend canceled on me twice last week, my sister canceled on me twice (Sunday and Monday). It’s getting very disappointing. I hate people like that, you know if you make plans - keep them. I try not to cancel my plans.
Ugh. I bought these Low Carb flatbread things for my chicken salad I made tonight. Let me just tell you, gross, gross, gross. They were over floured and tasted like rolled cardboard. The chicken salad was good, but would have been better if I had used fresh chicken instead of that already sliced stuff from the refrigerator section of the store. It’s just diced chicken, a little pepper, light mayo and sweet relish. Very tasty. I served it chilled, but you don’t have to.
Oh and for a couple who mentioned the Bissell vacuum cleaner, it’s a good vacuum. Just not for Berber carpet I think. I mean, it’s a very short grade fiber in the Berber, and it’s so tight that I would never get this kind of carpet for myself. It pulls, and I can’t get between the fibers with the vacuum to get the rest of the dirt out. I use the powdered baking soda all the time in my carpet (or Borax during flea season) and it’s never clogged on me, except for this one time. I would recommend that vacuum again to someone.
Oh - if you have dog pee in your carpet, if you catch it really quick, pour some baking soda into the carpet (enough to coat) and it will draw the urine out of the carpet. Wait until dry and vacuum. You won’t smell anything and there will not be a spot. Works great.

Money, money, money!Posted on May 18th, 2007 @ 6:29 am
The most common thing to fight about in a relationship? Money. Guess what we did yesterday? You guessed it. We fought about Money. Paying bills, or rather NOT paying bills and who didn’t do what etc. We’re both battered and bruised (figuratively, not literally) but I think in the end we’ll somehow manage to get out of this funk.
So, I found a flea on Kimber this morning, so out came my borax. I spritzed the cats with their Natural Remedy (it has things like peppermint oil, lemongrass etc), poured and stomped the Borax into my carpets. I gave the dog a quick flea comb (two fleas). Tomorrow I’ll vacuum up the Borax. Will work like a charm - on our Sunday grocery shopping, I’ll just have to get more Borax and put it down again on Wednesday and then I’ll be done. Fleas you don’t stand a biting chance!
So, I joined SparkPeople.com and Fitday.com - and last night was my last night out with eating whatever I wanted. We went out in style, my friend and I. I had a Whopper with Cheese, Medium Fry - oh and Cheesy Tots. Yum. We’re going to do it at work too, so I helped her shop for healthy stuff and she’ll be bringing in her own lunch for a while. I’m buying a huge thing of Water to drink it today (64oz which is 1920mls). Thank you Jen for bringing up weightloss. And thanks to my good work-buddy for wanting to eat healthy with me. Weight Watchers - we don’t need you!

Cleaning house…Posted on April 26th, 2007 @ 5:33 am
Today, I will more than likely, when I get home put everything in “Keep, donate, trash” piles. I have to (physically need) to get rid of some of this stuff before I go berserk. And I have to finish all the dishes (God, why can’t I have a dishwasher…please?) Just talking about all of the stuff I “have” to do is making me very sleepy, although I slept pretty well. I am not looking forward to going to work this morning; I seem to be “on the outs” with everyone. I don’t get why people can be so incredibly rude. I just don’t get it.

It’s summer…almostPosted on April 25th, 2007 @ 5:55 am
In Florida, the heat of the day can be unrelenting and obnoxious. Especially when you hate being hot (like myself). So, every Summer I say “enough is enough!” and try to find light and healthy ways to keep my body from keeling over in the heat. This summer is no different. I know that if I were to just eat healthier, not only could I start looking for Wedding gowns, but I might feel a little better too. So, today is the last day for my Diet Pepsi and Goldfish marathon. Tonight I embark on a healthy journey of yogurt, high protein, high vegetable diet. But, as for the protein - Cows and Chickens must be making quite the pretty penny because in my area, a pound of boneless skinless chicken breast is like 6.50/lb. Nuts, right?

The title that wasn’t.Posted on April 23rd, 2007 @ 5:42 am
Today, my in-laws (or soon to be) are leaving. Leaving the State, leaving the Country and it’s all I can do to restrain myself not to kick them in the butt on their way out. But then I look at S and see that he’s hurting - that makes me hurt for him. His Parents have done nothing but cause problems for us, things I can not devulge here, not matter how badly I need to say them. I’m sure that they are good people, and I’m sure they will be happy in Portugal. But to leave your children is an amazing act of selfishness. But that’s okay, my parents have embraced S and welcomed him with open arms. When we have children it will be Grandma and PopPop, not Avô e Avó. That makes me a little sad because they will never truly know his side of the family because they have chosen not to speak to me or get to know me and already dislike me. I have made several attempts to get their phone numbers and addresses so that we could open communication. But I get shut down every time.
