My Plants are dying…

Mass was long and dragged out. But breakfast was oh-so-yummy. Ham and Cheese Omlette with Home Fries and Raisin Toast. Yum. Mom showed me the Banana Hammock she bought for us (thanks Mom!) and I adore my new slipcover. I must be allergic to Florida or something, it was 94 out and I thought I was going to die. I’m sitting at home now, in a tank top and boxers with a Portable fan blowing in my face yet I still can’t cool down.

Pizza King
Posted on April 28th, 2007 @ 5:24 am

I love Fridays. As a kid, my sister and my Parents would jump in the Beemer and drive up to Pizza Hut and eat as much pizza as we fancied. We switched back and forth from Pizza Hut to Vesuvio’s - a local pizzeria that had awesome pies that I’ve never found anywhere near as delectable. I can’t tell you how many free personal pan pizza’s I got for Book-It (remember that?) Always with mushrooms. Yum. I still order Pizza about 3 times a month now-a-days, usually from Little Cesar’s or Papa Johns maybe a Pizza Hut pie. But lately, we’ve been getting our pies from a little known shop (that actually just opened). I think they could survive just on my Pharmacy’s business alone. I brought it home last night and the beloved’s eyes lit up. Thank you dear Pizza for making us happy.

Cleaning house…
Posted on April 26th, 2007 @ 5:33 am

Today, I will more than likely, when I get home put everything in “Keep, donate, trash” piles. I have to (physically need) to get rid of some of this stuff before I go berserk. And I have to finish all the dishes (God, why can’t I have a dishwasher…please?) Just talking about all of the stuff I “have” to do is making me very sleepy, although I slept pretty well. I am not looking forward to going to work this morning; I seem to be “on the outs” with everyone. I don’t get why people can be so incredibly rude. I just don’t get it.

It’s summer…almost
Posted on April 25th, 2007 @ 5:55 am

In Florida, the heat of the day can be unrelenting and obnoxious. Especially when you hate being hot (like myself). So, every Summer I say “enough is enough!” and try to find light and healthy ways to keep my body from keeling over in the heat. This summer is no different. I know that if I were to just eat healthier, not only could I start looking for Wedding gowns, but I might feel a little better too. So, today is the last day for my Diet Pepsi and Goldfish marathon. Tonight I embark on a healthy journey of yogurt, high protein, high vegetable diet. But, as for the protein - Cows and Chickens must be making quite the pretty penny because in my area, a pound of boneless skinless chicken breast is like 6.50/lb. Nuts, right?

The title that wasn’t.

Today, my in-laws (or soon to be) are leaving. Leaving the State, leaving the Country and it’s all I can do to restrain myself not to kick them in the butt on their way out. But then I look at S and see that he’s hurting - that makes me hurt for him. His Parents have done nothing but cause problems for us, things I can not devulge here, not matter how badly I need to say them. I’m sure that they are good people, and I’m sure they will be happy in Portugal. But to leave your children is an amazing act of selfishness. But that’s okay, my parents have embraced S and welcomed him with open arms. When we have children it will be Grandma and PopPop, not Avô e Avó. That makes me a little sad because they will never truly know his side of the family because they have chosen not to speak to me or get to know me and already dislike me. I have made several attempts to get their phone numbers and addresses so that we could open communication. But I get shut down every time.

Love
Posted on April 21st, 2007 @ 6:56 pm

The night has been quiet, filled with a million white stars. The moon looks like a childs smile, wrapped up in a cloud. The railing has two of the three cats that hang out at my door, on top of it. For a while, all I could hear were the pronunciations of the words on my Portuguese program. “O Urso. A Galinha. Preto. A barata.” The sounds of the words made my head spin, though I could safely identify all of them (Bear, Chicken, Black and Cockroach.) I begin to think about how lucky the Beloved is to have someone like me. Who is dedicated to sharing his favorite things, while he just laughes at mine.

Then I read about someone who just lost the love of their life. No more squabbles over tiny things. No more late night giggling. No more having someone look you in the eye and feeling like they touch your soul.

So, tonight my dear, dear readers - who do or do not comment. Don’t hesitate to tell someone you love them one last time. Don’t forget to smile at someone passing on the street. Don’t go to bed angry and wake up with passion for the day. May the Powers that Be, bless you in every way.
